Through “Treasures of Prajñā: The Transmission and Preservation of Buddhism”, Tung Lin Kok Yuen has been reimagined as a museum. Centered around the theme of ‘one space, three themes,’ the exhibition delves into TLKY’s storied history, highlighting its contributions to Dharma propagation, education, and architectural conservation, all while commemorating its 90th anniversary.
Over the past 90 years, TLKY has been deeply grateful for the selfless support of generations of venerable and lay practitioners. Staying true to its original mission, TLKY has passed on its spiritual torch and remained committed to promoting the Dharma and advancing education. Every connection and every scene depicted in the exhibition reflects the distinct qualities of Buddhist values— benevolence and wisdom.
TLYK hopes that, after viewing the exhibition, visitors will be drawn closer to the Triple Gem, inspired to learn and practice the teachings of the Buddha, and come to appreciate the accomplishments and contributions of Hong Kong Buddhism as well as the Yuen’s efforts in its promotion and development.
As emphasized by the Yuen’s founding abbot, Lady Clara Ho Tung, her aspiration when establishing the Yuen was to enable people to understand the Dharma through the realization of virtuous deeds. With purified minds and steadfast faith, individuals can integrate the wisdom of the Buddha’s teachings into their daily lives, cultivating compassion for all beings. It is hoped that this spirit of compassion and wisdom will flourish in everyone’s heart, thereby contributing to a prosperous and harmonious society in which all families may live in peace and happiness.
Finally, we cherish with gratitude everyone’s participation, sharing in the blessings of the Dharma and walking together in mutual aspiration.
