Two sets of uniforms – White & Blue Lady Victoria Ho Tung, the eldest daughter of Sir Robert Ho Tung and Lady Clara Ho Tung, was dedicated to advancing women’s education, serving as the supervisor of Po Kok School and Hong Kong’s first female Justice of the Peace.
The switch to blue school uniforms in the 1960s, during Hong Kong’s water rationing, addressed the difficulties of cleaning white uniforms. Lady Victoria Ho Tung provided funds for two blue uniforms per student, as the durable, stain-resistant fabric reduced water use and costs.
